US Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District:
Allison Aquatics Training Facility (AATF)
About this Project
AACON overcame challenges; the design to support the exterior ductwork in the contract drawings was not possible and new special support stands had to be designed and fabricated. This delayed the installation of the exterior ductwork because of USACE’s approval process and the fabrication time. AACON and its subcontractor, Preferred Industries, were able to manage this modification without an increase to the price of the contract. The ductwork was completed, and the PDU unit initiated as scheduled. Additionally, the existing pool equipment room had limited space for the specified new equipment. Through some on-site engineering, all equipment was installed while maintaining the proper clearances in compliance with the manufacturers’ installation instructions and local codes.
The AACON team and its subcontractors were proud to bring the Allison Aquatics Training Facility back to life. One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was witnessing this mission critical facility fully operational for our service men and women.
