US Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, SDVOSB Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC):
POV Parking and Storm Water Control Improvements at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin
About this Project
The site and drainage revisions included the construction of an asphalt POV parking lot for the existing warehouse, storm water channels, modifications to existing detention basins, new security fencing, new hardstand, storm sewer modifications and additions, and tank trail modifications within the cantonment zone of Fort McCoy.
Several factors made this project a challenge with the most notable being the time of the year the contract was awarded with completion required before inclement weather would postpone delivery to the USACE. With just four months to complete the project, AACON had to ensure subcontractors and suppliers were constantly informed of project status to ensure scheduling of labor, material and equipment resources did not impact the progress of project. In addition, existing facilities located within the project limits remained occupied and in operation, several existing security fences required temporary removal and relocation, and an existing tank trail that transverse the project site, which remained in continuous use, required relocation in one area and lowering in another. Coordination with the facility operators was a daily occurrence to ensure construction operations had no impact on Fort McCoy personnel and operations.
Through disciplined management and supervision, AACON was able to complete this Task Order Contract within budget, zero recordable accidents and deliver on schedule to the USACE.
