US Department of Agriculture-Agriculture Research Station: Multiple Roof Replacements
Appalachian Fruit Research Station & the NCCCWA Boiler Room
About this Project
AACON was awarded a multi-building project for the repair and replacement of three separate roofs for USDA-ARS and NCCCWA. For the first building, Farm Center, AACON performed a demolition of the existing roof and insulation down to the existing Tectum deck. From there, AACON installed a new, fully adhered 60 mil PVC-KEE sloped roof. The Farm Center building also required new expansion joints, gravel stops, roof drains as well as miscellaneous blocking and incidentals. The second building in this project, Grader, required the installation of a new standing seam metal roof over the pre-existing metal roof panels with 2-inch batt insulation. In addition, AACON fitted the new roof with skylight panels, fascia trim, gutters and downspouts. The Boiler Room, a pre-engineered CECO Building, was the third building in this project. AACON’s work included the removal and installation of new standing seam panels, adding new eave trim and fascia trim as well as gutters and downspouts.
