About this Project
In September of 2019, AACON was awarded this contract replace two sections of roof at the Lake Barclay Powerhouse in Kentucky. The facility remained open during construction elevating the safety planning and coordination with the client. The project consisted of multiple activities including the removal of existing pavers, EPDM, insulation, cameras, satellites without impact to the environment. A fully adhered 90 mil Firestone EPDM roof system with a 120-mph wind rating and mechanically fastened High Density 2.5” insulation was successfully installed. AACON preserved the existing pavers, reinstalling them after completion of the EPDM roofing system. AACON was also able to unclog multiple roof top drains that had posed a problem for many years despite the efforts of multiple contractors. AACON worked through many weather delays to bring the project in on time and was recognized by the client multiple times for overcoming this challenge.
